Supplies:
Empty cereal box (or some sort of cardboard of the same thickness)
string (we used the type to truss a turkey or a roast)
2 beads (this is to keep the string from falling out, you can also use tape, make play dough beads or tie a really big knot)
A washer or coins
drinking straws
glue
tape
scissors
2) Glue the Arlecchino to the cardboard. If you are not using stick glue, make sure not to use too much glue or it will bubble. If that does happen, just smoosh out the bubble the best you can.
3) Cut out the Arlecchino more precisely.
4) Color it in.
6) Tape the straws and coin into place. This serves as a reinforcement for the glue. Also the kids don't have to wait until the glue dries to begin playing with the toy.
7) Thread the string through the top of the 2 straws and then through a bead on each end. Tie off.
8) Hang on a door knob and now you are ready to go...Pull down alternatively on each bead and the Arlecchino will climb up. Add some slack and he will slide back down.
And now a crafty little I Spy for Carnivale:
I spy bits of confetti and a streamer that's blue,
a piece of string and a white bead or 2.
a roll of tape,
and a Arlecchino cut out in a bubble shape,
a red straw that only half shows,
7 pens all colors of rainbows.
a pair of scissors and 3 coins in a pile,
I spy a colorful Arlecchino with a happy little smile.
